1983 Eagle Model 10 Tour Bus 8V71.
it’s been intermittent, but happening more frequently. The rear air tank has always filled more slowly, but now I see that when I’m rolling, it will sometimes lose 10-15 pounds then build back up. I bleed them regularly and do not hear any obvious leaks. Any suggestions on where to check?

Re: Rear air tank problem
Nothing jumps out at me I think that tank may have an automatic drain valve that sometimes go bad. Other than that get a good leak detection solution and start spraying things down. Also check the lines running to and from the tank. Some people buy a device that will help listen for the leak I have no personal experience with such a device.

Re: Rear air tank problem
Hi Jim
Couple if thoughts.
First, if possible, air up the bus with a remote air compressor (to reduce ambient noise and keep pressure on the system). If you can do this, and the system has a regulator, set it below the air dryer pop off pressure.
The second thought is a bit tongue-in-cheek (not intended), but enlist the help of a young person who does not have high frequency hearing loss {grin}. I suspect that many air leaks could be in the higher frequency range.

Re: Rear air tank problem
Jim,
Excellent suggestion. Surprisingly enough, I still have most of my high end hearing. I know……weird. Also have a soapy water spray at the ready.
