Dan's 1982 Model 10 For Sale

Post by Boone »

After 10 years it is time for us to put our Model 10 up for sale. 340,000 miles, 6v92, Allison 4 speed. Tires are all less than 3 years old and have less than 1000 miles on them. The bus is garage kept so no sun damage on the tires. In the last few years I replaced the turbo, batteries, tires, did the conversion all new from scratch. Rear queen bed interior with bath, kitchen etc. No generator.

This bus was originally owned by a school so not too many miles and was well maintained. We used it as a weekender so 60 gal fresh water, 35 gal gray and 30 gal black. 12,000 btu air and all tanks in rear bay. Front 2 bays open for you to turn it into whatever you want. I originally built this bus so the water tanks, generator and air could be easily upgraded later but then never needed to upgrade for the 2 of us. There is space for a shower but I never put it in.

The conversion was done for 2 people with a futon up front in case of company. We have enjoyed it but it's time for us to do something different.

I will be happy to answer any questions and can email pics.

Asking $25,000, Feel free to email or call.

Good afternoon! I've sent Dan a deposit for his Model 10, and will be picking the bus up soon. I plan on making some additions and changes to the coach's interior, but want to keep it's outward appearance the same. Would any of the members have any or all the parts for sale for the 'destination' sign above the windshields? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Wayne! I'm excited to get the bus home to start working on it! I'm retiring this summer(2022) and hope to travel this beautiful country of ours! I can't think of a better way to travel than at the wheel of a Classic Eagle! I've been a truck driver since 1979 and have driven 40'+ straight trucks and tractor trailers, so I believe I'm up to the task!
I plan on posting pics of our adventures, and the mods I hope to do, so until then , have a great weekend!

As it turns out, I have several destination signs. There are complete signs on my 1975 Model 05, and 1982 Model 10, and some parts on my 1984 Model 10. The roll on the 1982 has band names, and the 1975 has things like Express, New York, Chicago, etc., as I recall. I have no plans to use them, so when you get your Eagle let me know what you need exactly. I definitely have three sign windows.

I finally have time to post that the bus is now safe and sound in Honeybrook PA! I rented a car from Hertz and drove down to Tennessee to pick up Danny’s 82 model 10 on Thanksgiving day. After an approximately 10 1/2 hour drive I met Danny and his wife Thursday afternoon, we went over the systems on the bus and then met again Friday morning to do the paperwork.I left for home about 12:30 in the afternoon Friday, and after a 5 hour layover at a TA Truck stop in Virginia got home about 9 AM Saturday morning. The bus ran great and averaged about 7 miles per gallon, and once I got used to it, was a pleasure to drive! Thank you Danny for all the advice and a great bus!

Rick, we are excited to follow your progress.

I would love to see you start a project thread and post a ton of pictures of both the current configuration of the bus and then the modifications you make

Did I mention that we love pictures? :D

Hi Jim!
Thanks for the reply, I'll definitely start a project thread!  Danny had the bus almost finished in my opinion, but I am going to make changes to suit my "needs".  I hope to add a larger shower, back up cameras, docking lights, a hitch and towing set-up, updated sound and electronics, as well as possibly upgrading the light bulbs to led... my night vision is not what it used to be!  I'm also looking into the possibility of adding solar to the bus (the new thin, flexible solar panels look very promising.) I hope and plan to make these changes without altering the appearance of the bus as much as possible... I love the classic 'look'!
I'll be off to a bit of a slow start since I had a total knee replacement on Dec.1st.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
