Van Horn, TX

Post by Liberty »

We have stopped for the night in Van Horn. I clean little town just about sitting on the Time Zone Line between Central and Mountain time. We ate at the Hotel El Capitan. A restored 1930s hotel that was turned into a bank in the '70s. It has had a 2.5 million dollar face lift and is a nice place. The eating is very good. We are staying in a Passport America RV park that is not to write home about but one night and all the trails and I-10 one could want. 50A and level $13.50 tax and all so a good deal. The owners have just had the place since the first of the year. Another trip and we will probably stop again if the timing is right.

Hey LeRoy-

Sounds like your westbound and down! If you wind-up in the Yuma direction and need a place to park for a bit, give a shout. We were there for a couple of days last week and now back in California--probably won't be back until December-January, but you're welcome to park awhile and plug in!

Safe travels to you and Anne!

Hey Art, where you been? Thought you guys unplugged. Come on over to the NRG in Scottsdale, would love to see you and Cindy. We are going to hit the FMCA rally (Converted Coach Chapter) at Indio on the way, maybe see you there?

Hey Mark-

We're still a bit busy taking care of Cindy's sister, so we've been keeping a low (albeit busy) profile. We get a couple of days off a month, but not enough to really go anywhere.

We'd really enjoy the Scottsdale run, but that's probably not going to happen. In fact, it's going to take a major act just to hit Quartzsite for a couple of days.

As it stands, we have some free time from Sunday afternoons through Tuesday afternoons; we might be able to make a quick trip to Indio for a few hours.

We'll see what we can work out, and maybe we'll see you sometime before you roll back into the northern end of the world!

Safe travels to you guys!

Art, Thank you
we are in T or C, NM this weekend. I have a cousin here and the famous hot springs. We are parked at Riverbend Hot Springs which gives us unlimited visiting rights to the hot water.
We may take you up on the Yuma thing if it works out following Q. My cousin that has a place there passed away last month un expectedly. so do not know yet if her husband will travel down from AK on not.
