Short Stacker - Looking for Trailer

Post by Panton »

Hi All,
Does anyone have leads on a short stacker trailer (22-32 feet) I am looking for something unique that would look good with an Eagle 7 any condition considered.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt

If you use Facebook, you could subscribe to the following group:  Race Trailers and Toters ONLY...!!!  They have a fairly active group that has quite a few trailers.  Not too many stackers, but you never know what will show up.

If you do keep your bus and get serious about a trailer of that size, you might want to do a bit of searching here.  There are several threads about towing trailers with Eagles.  Their frame structure design, along with structural tube rusting problems, can cause a lot of concern.  There are solutions that can be considered and they are discussed in the threads.

Yes, thanks Jim.
No, I looked at Facebook from a technical standpoint in the early 2000's when it first came out and understood that it was essentially a data logger spying on its users in very invasive ways even way back then.  It is exceedingly worse now. Strangely few seem to care about privacy these days.  Not to get on too big of a soapbox but, frankly I would rather go without a trailer than subject myself to Facebook. LOL!!!

Anyway, if anyone find this interesting the story of the creepy Life-Log project is good place to start.

As far as the towing. Yes thank you. I did look into that and the gentleman that built this unit did an excellent job on the receiver fabrication and bracing.  Depending on trailer size I have also considered https://www.trailertoad.com/ . Also this unit is very clean in terms of Rust. Most of its life in Southern California likely contributes to that as well as the complete refit that was done. I almost hate to move it to Florida as I will have to be active on rust prevention once here.

I always say that anyone spying on me is going to be very bored {grin}.

I enjoy my various car/bus related FB groups and I will keep an eye out for you on the trailer.

Possibly another source is the Racing Junk website.  They have a page for trailers:  https://www.racingjunk.com/category/tra ... ehicles/13

I did not spend any time looking at that page but I would bet that something will show up.

Sorry to revive an old off-topic thread, but it's very good to see someone express this sentiment. Feel the same way, used it for a week or so about 15 years ago to see what I was missing, came to much the same conclusion. The user experience is actually pretty poor, but users are the product, not the customer. The environment is designed to extract as much information from the user as possible, which is then sold...

I completely agree with your sentiment, if something is only available on FB, I find an alternative. In my opinion the internet would be a better place if more people setup websites and forums...
