The biggest problem on the 01 is the torsalistic for the rear axle. Silver Eagle Mfg. is supposed to be addressing that issue, haven't heard anything of late.

I have also heard that you have to look for cracks on the tubes, so far ours is OK.

Other than that, I haven't found any other issues that cannot be fixed or found.

Thanks for the advice guys. The 01 in the ad is a couple of hours away and we thought of asking the seller if we could come and have a look. I would have to have someone else look at it because I wouldn't really know what to look for as far as suspension goes.

Don't feel bad, Steve. There are a lot of us in that boat. We just have to come here and ask the experts. That's what this forum is all about.

Steve, Go "Down Under" and take a look at the rear axle, torsalastic adjustment rods. They are close to the center of the wheel. If you see threads at the end of the nuts, you still have adjustment left. Take a good look at the tubes also, looking for cracks or anything that looks like someone has tried to patch it.

As you can see, I have not much adjustment left on ours.

The front end also needs looking at, there are rods for adjusting the torsalastics there.

Check for rust anywhere, bay frames, between the rear axle and tag, tap on the lower siding. If you see rust flakes on the ground, it will need work.

Also check out the front breastplate, where the front windshield meets the nose. Look for bubbles in the paint.

The wiring is also important, check in the engine compartment. Take pictures of everything and post them or send them to me.

It would be best if you could take the bus to a shop that has a pit. Have the owner start it up cold and look at the color of the smoke and how long it takes to fire once cranked.

Have a bus mechanic give it the once over. If he gives you a thumbs up, you might be OK. If it's thumbs down, run, don't walk. ;)

I'm not an expert, just own one. :D

Any questions, just ask.

Clifford, I sent your Josh's numbers. I don't know him so didn't want to post his numbers here.

Also, I will check on the roster and see why you can't download it. I do have a new one that I will upload as soon as I get it formatted anyway.

Thanks for all of the info. You guys are great.

I asked the seller a few days ago of the engine bay and water and electrical systems. It looks like they were shot with a phone.
Steve (Response Below)

"Steve i am not sure when the motor or trany was redone but it
all works good. I was not to worried about it because 8v71 and 4
speeds are pretty cheep now. I have owned the bus for about 6
years and have had no problems out of the Eagle, The water
system is 100 gal black and grey combined and about 60 gal
fresh water, the electric is a 50 amp system. I will try to post
more pictures by Monday if not send me youre email and I will.
Thanks Cliff "

Think I would pass on that one, that would be a complete redo might as well start with a empty shell.
I notice in the pictures he has a MCI or model 20 in the background

good luck
