I will give Phil an email and see what he has to say about it. Thank you for the positive feedback.

Hey thanks folks, this is interesting. It might have been delivered a 6 but it is an 8 now, I haven't looked at it, but I am sure it is an 8 and turbo'ed. It is in storage some 14 miles away, but I am going in for another round on Monday or Tuesday, as soon as I can fetch me some more zero's for the estimate!

Clifford, I took you up on your advice and emailed them this morning:

Hello, My name is Don Smith and I live in Norman Oklahoma. I recently bought an '83 Eagle coach and I have found out it was sold to you in 1983 as a brand new unit.

I know an ocean of water has flowed under the bridge, and this is indeed a long, long time ago, but I figured I would give it a shot? IE: My Eagle, Serial no. 50018, was originally sold to Amador Stage Lines in Sacramento, CA. on 4-6-1983. The production manufacturing number was 83-008 which means it was the 8th bus produced in 1983. Amador Stage Lines bus number was #1031. It was delivered with a 6V92 Detroit and an Allison HT740 Automatic.

I was wondering if you have any additional information on my pride and joy and if you do, I would be most grateful if you would pass it on to me.

Thanks so much,

Don Smith

Should be interesting to see what comes back, eh?

Don, I wish you had let me know you were coming to Sanford. I only live 1 1/2hrs from there. I also have family there. Well, enjoy your Eagle, things will work out. Welcome to the best bus board and the Eagle family. :D

At that time, I didn't even know about the Eagle Forum or any of this, but I appreciate the offer. We are considering attending the Chrome Show (trucks) and visiting the Chrome Shop in Wildwood next summer, we will give you a shout.

How's that?

Boy was I lucky, I made it all the way from Charolett to Arizona & only ran out of fuel once. It was really cold, no heater, but it got progressively warmer as I approached Ariz. It does get better, I have since made several trips around the country (coast to coast) with only minor problems. The gang at Eagles International are great! There are always bumps in the road, we always get past them.
