As of 12/1/2021, a major update of the forum software was accomplished

Update: 4/20/2024: The Eagles email account at GoDaddy no longer works. I have set up a gmail account as a workaround: eaglesinternational.email@gmail.com (This link seems to work for my outlook email, but may not work for other email platforms. If it does not load, copy and paste the link in your platform.)

Update: 4/27/2024: I am getting some SQL error pages as I click on different areas of our forum. Reloading them again (upper left circle arrow)usually loads the page. I will wait for a day or two before I have GoDaddy look into the problem.

Rivets

Post by Seann »

Greetings All.

Have enjoyed and benefited greatly from much of the discussion on these forums, a lot of wisdom has been expressed here that is hard to find these days..

So, on a frame-up converted Eagle some rivets have started to pop off. A neighbor where we are visiting down south previously did metal work, including rivets, in the aviation industry. He thinks engine vibration is the cause, and has offered his expertise to help replace the missing rivets.

However, he is unable to find the type of rivets used in this build, as these are not used in the aviation industry. Perhaps someone here can point us in the right direction?

Has anyone seen rivets like this before? Any suggestions on where to look for these?

Greetings and welcome to the group.

I am not sure why your pictures did not post.  Be sure to use the "attachment" option at the bottom of the input screen.

The company that seems to be the go to in the industry is:  https://bylerrivet.com/

Try posting the photos again and maybe we can give you a better option.

Thanks Jim, I believe Byler will have what we need. Will contact them.

Sorry about the pictures. I cannot attach pictures, and instead used the Image link to a website. The pictures appear to work on my end, but below is a direct link.

Those look like regular rivets with umbrella caps driven into the hole of the rivet.  I put a lot of those on my model 10 when I built it.  I believe I did get those at Byler.
