I discovered that part of the Wtec III wiring harness for the transmission was accidentally thrown away last summer in preparation for an auction.  The missing harness section included the female main communications port connector, the three male 32 pin TCM connectors and the round touch pad shift module connector.  If anyone has an idea where I might locate a Wtec III harness I'd appreciate hearing from you.  Otherwise I'll have to buy the connectors separately and configure each circuit using a schematic.

I know this is a year ot two late but by chance would you still have the ," Allison HT740 core with an SAE 1 flywheel housing and flexplate adapter kit to fit 855 cubic inch Cummins engines" ? I know it's a long shot but I thought asking wouldn't hurt.... Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the forum.

Your question is pretty specific.  I wish I had an answer for you.  If we don't get any information, I will probably move it to a separate thread and see if someone will chime in.

I believe Wayne Schell did this conversion.  Maybe he can help.

Thank you Jim. I have a Cummins 855 engine and I'm trying to mount this HT740 transmission to for my bus/camper. The problem is the transmission was mounted to the Cummins L10 originally so nothing just bolts up. I noticed on his post that he had an Allison core with all the stuff to mount up to the 855 and so I thought I would ask seeing as I have searched, and called everywhere to try and either get part numbers or the parts. And because Allison and Cummins don't support either of these anymore searching is getting me no where. He said to PM him but I'm still learning the site obviously but if anyone has any information I would be more than grateful for their knowledge and time.

Yes ihave a 740 mounted  to an 855. The problem is I didn't do the work. Southern Oregon  Diesel did it for me. They have been out of the bus conversion business for quite some time. I doubt anyone there would know what you need.

You got my curiosity up, so a I did a bit of searching.  Several hits said that the military used Allisons behind 855 engines.  Might be a new search avenue.

Sounds like you have the bell housing  but if you need the part, it looks like bell housing for N14 fit the 855.

Looks like the military option might work (something in the 5 ton category?).   The looking I did suggest they have a 654 transmission but maybe that is the same mounting as a 740?

Kind of fun to pick away at this type of search.

Will probably play more with it later.

One more thought.  You say you have the transmission and it was bolted to an L10.  The L10 would have a bell housing that has an SAE 1 or 2 bolt pattern on the transmission mating surface.  I would think that you could get a bell housing for the 855 with which ever SAE housing the transmission needs.  Mating the transmission to the flywheel may take some creative machine work.

I did run across a couple of website references for Allison adapters for  855 but both seemed dead.
