Very interesting but our laws are very confuse, the last upadte in 12/2008 was only for year model 1999 vehicles paying 10% plus 15% sales tax and others have to pay 50% plus sales tax as I said previously.

This week I was talking with the customs broker and he said that the authorities finally "said yes" to the importation and maybe they will accept a comercial value of $17,000 US dollars and this means that I have to pay something like $12,500 plus other charges from the customs broker.

We won the battle but the dream is very expensive and I preffer to let the Eagle fly.

Julio,I wish there was something more pleasant to say to you,maybe you need to move North,there's plenty of room here in the states for you and your dream
And I thought I had problems,this simply put,throws a wet towel on things ,but you know what is best for you and yours ,wish I could help some how.Please think this over one more time.good luck

Thanks for the reply. Everyones rules are confusing and work against anyone who is trying to do things legitimately. Sorry to hear that the import fees are going to do in your desire to fulfill your dream. Best of luck to you and yours.

Now The Grasshoper (Chapulin in mexican spanish) is a Mexican bus, I received a call and now is over the road heading to Chihuahua City.
