Paul,

I was searching why the axles and I think that this will not work with an Eagle, if I import a parts bus with no motor, transmission and axles or a self contained bus body (like a Dina or an Irizar as an example) to be mounted in a Mexican made chassis. Maybe this is the reason why there are just a few Eagles In Mexico.

Dale,

It doesn't matter how much I paid for the bus, BJ said the same that you, these kind of vehicles (Eagles buses and/or Bus conversions) doesn't exists in Mexico and the price is the commercial value defined by an stupid after a research on Internet, someone with no experience can determine the commercial value, is not this stupid?. This is a bizarre Country.

Thanks for all your comments.

Guess you'll just have to move to Texas! That's my wife's idea and she is always right so I guess that is it... :D

You are right that it is kinda ridiculous. But none of us expect governments to be very smart. But you gotta admit that they are very good at finding new ways to get undeserved money from you.

I'm kinda surprised there are not many Eagles in Mexico since they were built down there for a while. I have seen a couple from down there riding around up here in Southern CA. I took a picture of an 01 from Mexico parked in Bakersfield the other day. I put a card on the windshield but haven't seen them on here yet. Too bad we can't get in contact with any of them that have them down here to see what they did to get registered.

Why not just get a Texas address and license and title it in Texas?

I can't do that because I'm Mexican and I can't get a US drivers license and/or a valid address in TX, also as a Mexican I can't drive here in Mexico any vehicle with US registration, If I do that the bus could be impounded.

Thanks for your comments.

Julio, remove the flap and throw it away Eagles do not like flaps anywhere been there done that, your tempature will drop 5 to 10 degrees on the transmission and engine with out the flap.

Hell, you should come to Oregon then. They give illegals drivers licenses all the time. Addresses too. That would not fix the driving in Mexico part though. Sure a shame if you have to give up your Eagle. There must be a way.

I don't what the problem is down there a few years back Dr.Walker and myself brought back 2 of the Mexitur model 15's from Aguascalienes with Mexican plates.
Greyhound and Ameraconio Bus Lines ran the model 15 45 footers for years down there and when Wayne in Mo bought those they all had Mexican plates.
Best I can tell you Julio is do what what us Americans do there pass out the 100 dollar bills it works wonders.
good luck
Clifford

Julio-

Would it make any difference on the import tariff if the coach, or some portion of the conversion, was manufactured (or likely manufactured) in Mexico?

Julio, you are more than welcome to park your bus at my place in AZ till you decide what to do if nothing else park it here and we will get you Az plates 35.00 dollars a year and come here and use it,If a American sells a bus over there does the same laws apply I know some guys have sold cars to people over there and drove them across the border to the new owners. This will settle down in a few months the Mexican Gov got pissed a few months back and imposed the new taxes, do not give up just wait them out.
