Based on my moderator position, I made several deletions to some of the posts on this thread. This was done at the request of several members of this group.

BCO has a problem with a vendor. The majority of the membership has successfully done business with this vendor many times. The overwhelming consensus is that the vendor is a valuable and reliable resource to our community.

I respect the "first amendment rights" of every member. It is the right of every member to voice an opinion about a vendor, so that others in the group can make an informed decision.

I tried to leave enough of the thread intact so that BCO's concerns were voiced, but removed some of the more inflammatory comments.

Jim,
I personally feel that Don's (BCO) posts & replies should have been moved to Eagle Tech or Gen. Eagle Chat. Had nothing to do with the Lake Afton rally except that the delay in work will prevent his attending the rally. No offense to Don for his post here. ;) That being said if it were in another index wouldn't it be ok to leave the comments? I realize Jefferson has no way to defend itself here & their track record with others has been good but we are here to help one another. If we pull in to Flying J & for some reason we are overcharged for our fuel purchase & someone shares the experience here I don't believe the post would be eliminated or edited. :x
How about one of us not having a not so wonderful experience with a well known paint shop & spending many thousands of dollars that the government so graciously allowed us to keep. 8-) Shouldn't this be shared with others. What if we don't share our negative experiences until a good many of us finally get burned.
I understand the spirit of his comments could have been more tasteful. But in his defense he was truly pissed & wanted to vent amongst friends.
Now, how was that Afton Rally after all? :D

John, Jerry could have defended his self here he is a member of the Eagles club and has the same access as you and I to this board.
Me I would liked to heard both sides.
These Eagles can be a bitch to install windshields in some times and BCO has one plus the after market windshields it just compounds the problem.
Buying windshields from Norris I never could get Roy to install one for me he always told me to take it some where else .
I bet Jerry didn't even know what was going on till somebody told him after the fact because he does his best to make people happy after all he needs us just as bad as we need him.
To bad Jim had to step in I think it was a first for him and knowing him it was hard for him to do that and I hope BCO doesn't have any hard feeling
I agree 100% it should have been moved by one of the moderators
Just my 2 cents worth

John, as Clifford said, it was ***very hard*** for me to modify the posts. Add to that the terrible complications of trying to communicate in a written format and you have a recipe for a terrible situation.

Please take a minute and help me do a reality check so that I can do a better job in the future.

I ***TRIED*** to be very careful to say that **EVERYONE** on this board has the right to report vendors that they have issues with. That is the way that we can be made aware of someone's bad experience. It can start a discussion where folks can chime in so that a balanced presentation can be made about that vendor.

I ***TRIED*** to leave enough of BCO's posts intact so that everyone could understand what his issues were. The comments I removed were considered by several people to go beyond a reasonable complaint and approached being inflammatory.

John, from your comments, I don't think I did a very good job of my goal. Drop me note off line (jim at rvsafetysystems dot com) or call me at three zero three 478-3501 and help me to understand how I can do a better job if the situation comes up again.

Back to the real subject of this thread. The rally was great. Would have been much better if we had the bus here :( .

The setting was super, and the guy's tour of the Boeing Surplus and "The Yard" (http://www.yardstore.com/about.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) are almost beyond description. Yesterday we went to the Kansas Underground Salt Museum (650 feet below ground) and it was a great experience.

Of course we all had to open engine compartment doors and stare at engines for a while :D

There are always two sides to every story, and one was presented. I agree it could have been worded differently to avoid hard feelings.

I also agree it should have been moved, and I should have done it. Last time I tried to move something it caused a train wreck, which Dale had to fix. I'm just not up to par on some of this stuff, which I need to rectify.

None of us know what happened except Don and Jerry. I have never had any work done by Jefferson, so have no personal experience. I have received excellent service on shipping of parts that I have ordered from them though.

A lesson for me to be learned on this one.

It can be so difficult conveying our real feelings in words. I found myself trying to cut to the chase with my comments & forgot to say that I realized Jim had only edited & not completely removed the verbage. Thus I had hoped the smilies helped my cause. I know we are all glad for this board & how it helps each of us with our ultimate goals... A great Eagle & great Eagle friends to share with. Jim, I'll give you a call just to chew some fat & talk about some future rallies. Look forward to it.
