Ask him to join the board, I mean after all he has an Eagle and takes care of them.

Blower Replacement

After doing some research and getting some good advice from the Eagle board (thanks Clifford) I realized that having to put in a gallon of oil every 100 miles I traveled most likely meant my blower was bad. So, I decided to replace the blower. The task turned into a much bigger job as you'll see in the following posts, but the blower replacement went well:

Cleaning Engine Compartment / Applying Rust Bullet

Since the engine was out I wanted to spray that whole area with Rust Bullet, including the frame. Rust Bullet is an excellent product (thanks Gary for letting us know about it) and it's easy to apply but can be very toxic. You need to use a GOOD, charcoal filter mask. 3M makes a good one, costs about $35. Don't go cheap here, your lungs are worth the $$$.

Air Compressor / Dryer

I knew my compressor needed to be replaced. It was functioning but every time I drained my wet tank, oil came out with it. So we replaced the compressor with a rebuilt one, and while we were at it, I went ahead and installed an air dryer system which is something my Eagle never had (and I've been wanting).

Replacing the Yoke that hooks to the engine from the Miter Box

The Miter Box always seemed to make a funny noise to me when the engine was running, and I could never figure out what it was...as we were putting the engine back in we noticed the bolt was loose - it seems the hole was wabbled out (as you'll see in the pic below) so we replaced that yoke and the other part (name?) since it was bad, too.

Air Modulator (for Transmission)

I have an air trottle but the air modulator was never installed, so I went ahead and installed one and got rid of the throw-down cable. So now it's a complete air throttle.

Finished Project (from what started with the Blower Replacement)

We went ahead and painted the whole engine (since it was out). It still needs some detailing, but at least it's back together and running like a dream! It seems changing that blower did the trick because my oil psi has stayed at a steady 40 and it's been driven more than 100 miles. Before the change, my psi would have steadily declined and would have been at about 20 after 100 miles of travel.

In Post #32, that little device is called a ping tank. It's funny, because in my manual it's referred as a "Pink Tank". I left ours in the system, glad you have a real air drier now. I know the feeling!

Your work sure looks great! Glad your project worked out and the new blower did the trick! 8-)
