I received my packet today! Wow, great job Pam and Tony! Very well put together and designed. 8-)

You two are going to become a permanent Trail Boss/Wagon Master, if you don't watch out! ;)

As an added note, Bus Conversion, in the January issue, lists this as a "bus rally" as opposed to an Eagles International Rally. Given the great location and timing of this rally, you might want to let Pam and Tony know you are attending so that they can save places of Eagle owners. I suspect we will be joined by several SOBs :D - not a big deal as long as Eagle owners are not turned away.

I did a bit of playing with Google maps today and honed in on the campground:

Ok Pam and Tony,
Art and I were going to find a cool piece of west coast, near our home somewhere, to park the bus for our anniversary in August... but have now changed our minds... we now plan to head up your way for your rally. We picked up a packet in Q, and will get our registration form mailed to you.

We are excited too! Can't wait to meet all those who didn't make it to Q... and see again those who were at Q! I might even start remembering names! (ya-right! lol)

Pam posted some great directions to the rally site on another thread. I thought we should post those directions here to tie all the rally details together.

Also, there was some confusion about some of the rallies listed in this forum. This is an Eagles International sanctioned rally.
Hi Guys,

Just read the post on directions to Cody.

Let me first tell you about Sylvan Pass coming out of the park East entrance and into Cody. For the past 4 years they have been working on it. They have changed the grading,,,added rock side walls, and widened it a bit. I have been up and down it several times and can not see a problem with it. We have been up much worst!
If you decide to go to the North entrance,,,the plus would be going through Mammoth Hot Springs. There you may be face to face with large herds of Elk and Buffalo. I was at the restaurant once, and a buffalo and Elk were about 15 feet from the building.

If you continue to I-90 and head East,,,,you want to get off at LAUREL,,,,Exit 434. Going to Sheridan is a LONG way out of your way, and you will have to come back via the Big Horn Mountains. Now, the word BIG should set you off...but just in case it doesn't, you have passes over 10,000 ft,,,winding and
narrow roads. Coming down from Laurel, is about 90 miles. The directions I will send you will give you one hill, that my 871n has no problem making!
The choice is yours, but I would strongly advise you NOT to go to Sheridan and come over the Big Horn Mountains. I had 3 cars delivered here when I first moved here. I repeatedly told the driver not to come that way, but he said the GPS told him it was the way to go. When he got to the top of the mountain... hood high in snow...elk blocking the road, he saw a sign that said Cody...100 miles. When he arrived at my house, 6 hours late,,,he still was a little more than stunned.

Please keep in mind, that when we send everyone their final confirmations, I will include what I feel are the best directions.

Looking forward to August. Everyone say a pray or do a dance that fuel prices don't go nuts. (3.49 a gallon as of today in Cody)

Thanks,

Hi all....
Image

Introducing the Cody Rally in the Rockies mascot!! She stands over 3 feet high and is a SLIVER EAGLE !! We are looking for a unique name for her. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. :)

We are working hard to get ready and organized for the rally. Just as an FYI, to the early arrivals that will be staying at our house, we have installed the electric and water lines to one side of the property and we will be installing both to the front driveway area in the coming week. If you are planning on staying at the house PLEASE let us know as soon as possible.

We are getting special group discounts in order for Buffalo Bill Historic Museum, Cody Rodeo, Old Trail Town Historic Village, and Cody Trolley Tour. If we have a minimum of 26 people for the rodeo, we will get the discounted tickets, special reserved seating, and a mention of our group.

A couple other services, that we hope will not be needed... We have contacted the local tire shop and they have assured us they will have stock of 22.5 and 24.5 tires. They also are equipped to come to the campground for any problems. We also have lined up two diesel repair businesses here in Cody, just in case. They will come to the campground.

In addition to the above, we have an RV mobile wash unit that will come to the campground at your request.

The best news yet... is that diesel fuel prices are down to $3.97 per gallon in Billings as of yesterday. Far better than $4.49 per gallon a few weeks ago!!

One of our local entertainers, who just happens to own an Eagle bus, is talking about providing entertainment during the rally. "Bobby Chitwood and the Hard Ride".

We have sent a personal invite to Alan Jackson, but have not had a response as of yet. Tony just wants him to sing "Midnight in Montgomery" and then he can be on his way.....LOL!

Needless to say we are getting excited....Hoping to see you all soon!
Pam, Tony and Jack

Hi Cindy,
Saw the Eagle and couldn't resist!
Bobby Chitwood is great. Nice down to earth people. On his second Eagle...has a 45 ft. Ent Coach that is completely wrapped for his Hard Road to Nashville tour. If he has the wrap removed, it is a pretty light gold color.
The attendance for the rally is good. Wish I could say the same for Yellowstone Park. Landslides are causing major problems, but will be cleared up soon!
Take care...safe travels
Tony
