Boy, you dug that up from the archives huh! Not sure Julio, these were stamped on the aluminum band at the water/floor line on ours. Every piece had that stamped on the back, another VIN# confirmation. Maybe Dan Lenz or others, can shed some light on it, he worked at the factory for many years.

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01 - Zip Dee Patio Awning
I'll start putting the Zip Dee Patio Awning installation here now. I really thought I could get it all installed today, not gonna happen. It was 104, 135 on the roof without the white elastomeric roof coating and 120 on the roof coating. I worked feverishly (my little a$$ off) this morning before the heat, knocked off at noon and tried to work later in the day. All I need to do is finish the awning rail, and some odds and ends then tip it up, install the flex key, tighten the spring and check operation.
For those of you who have a shop or under cover, Bless You!

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01
Well it's finally up! I can understand why curved arms are used top and bottom. It doesn't hit the drip rail, but I think it would be better to have them. Someday down the road maybe I'll get them, right now it'll do just fine.
At least we can shade the hot side during the afternoon, that is if it isn't too breezy, which is very rare here.
The slider bars are a great addition, sure glad I had at least one of them.
The color is not our choice, something we'll change later I'm sure. I like it but Becky said it's not her favorite color, and you know what that means! Besides our paint scheme would have to change!!!!
Another side note of which I didn't know, the word Foretravel is sewn into the flap, the next one will have "Dreamscape" sewn into it instead!
We can stay cool now!

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01
Paul, nothing to it after you make up your mine after 4 years LOL looks good enjoy. When Becky finds out the price of the Sunbrella Faric from ZIP DEE she will love the color.
You need to help your friend Julio in Mexico now.
I never saw an awning installed like his it covers none of the windows, why would someone do that I wonder.
His looks to be left unlocked while traveling that type when you roll it up you have to raise the front arm and drop in a slot locking the latch at the top doesn't do much good
don't ask how I know P.s did you buy the latch that goes on yours
good luck

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01
Clifford, Yes I had the latch, just needed to buy the loop, it's mounted! I still need to give it a couple of more winds on the spring, it rolls up, just need to give it a push to get it started. Other than that it works pretty darn good! The cover just barely goes over the marker light, but it's a pretty fat one anyway. Not much on ours is OEM for an 01.
Maybe I should get a price on the fabric, that might convince Becky that it looks pretty good the way it is. Good Point!
Looks like a trip to Mexico might be in the cards one day. Although it might be a while, he might just have to wait for TBR 2009. We'll get it sorted out one way or the other.

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01
Clifford, I know the main arm can be curved as it's steel tubing, the bottom is square aluminum solid stock, not sure about that one.
Is a front latch and loop recommended along with the rear, I didn't find anything saying so. Just curious why one on the rear and not the front, maybe because of the spring on the rear I suppose.

A couple of shots of the kitchen cabinets on the stove side finished! HA
The counter is clean from all my tools and sawdust! Whew!
This is our VIN tag, I made the back from oak and left all of the battle scars for proof! It's located above and to the left of the driver seat.
