It is a small leak from the green fuel pump. It is fixed.

I know you were going to be working on the power steering pump. I'm figuring that to be a one day job for you .

I think this is one "helleva" site. Everything seem to run and flow like a nice bubbling brook. I truly feel like a member of a tight knit family here. Everyone seem to go all out to help each other here. That's been said quite a few times but it never hurt to repeat yourself when it's true!!!

Paul, your engine sounds GREAT and looks really good, too! Sure does bring back memories of my adventure just about a year ago. It is a good feeling to hear that new engine running...especially knowing you did it yourself! Btw, what was wrong with your old engine? Mine was shot! It still ran good but I had to keep putting oil in it. It took 4 gals between my house in FL and Eric's in SC. That will give you an idea. My new engine has WAY more power and hasn't needed any oil yet (although I have done an oil change since). OH...and you are going to LOVE it being automatic! I have the same transmission...and Allison Trans says it is very heavy duty.

The old engine was not that bad. It used 1 1/2 gallons of oil on our trip from Austin, TX to Vancouver, WA last year. It leaked more than it burnt! I just got a deal on the new one and my wife said go for it! I had no real history on the old one either. At least with this one I had Clifford to give me the scoop.

I'm looking forward to taking it out in a couple of weeks. I am very anxious to see how the tranny performs. Never driven one with an automatic! I've got the front grill all tore apart waiting on me to install all of the original 01 hardware from a Texas Eagle.

I sure learned a bunch during the process. I just wish I was 30 years younger!

the only difference between driving a manual and an auto in these old buses is you have no clutch, and don't have to worry about "crashing gears". I still shift it manually between all gears. JMW and YMMV.

Most of you remember what the front grill looked like along with the rectangle headlights. It really has grated on me over the years. While we were in Texas and visiting Al Moreno, he knew of a guy that had an 01. We drove over and talked the owner into selling me the grill, corners and headlights. Well I finally got it all installed! We won't be winning any awards for points at any concours d'elegance shows, but it sure looks better to me!

Now to cut in some holes for the Per Lux fog lights I got!
