That's great! We'll be at the rally in Franklin from March 31 until April 4th. Anytime after that would be fantastic!

We found a transplant for our Eagle. The 8V71N has low miles and built by Stewart and Stevenson. It will be coupled to a low mile, recently rebuilt Allison 740. Thanks to Clifford and Mike Wilson for helping me to turn this into a reality!

Now all I have to do is get the tranny shipped from Florida to Vancouver, WA, pick up the engine from Mike, and go to work!

We are hoping to tackle this in September or October up at a bus nut buddies place in Vancouver. I will install an air throttle and maybe even a King Cruise. I found a Stone Bennett that is hydraulic, not sure on that one. The price is pretty darn good. Stay tuned! ;)

Paul,

Surely you have thought of shipping the 740 from Florida to Texas then hauling it to Vancouver with you!

Seems to me it would save a lot of freight. Probably could get it to Texas free via a good samaritan.

Good luck,

Yes I have Joe, just don't have anyplace to store it for travel. I'm working with one of our own, William Watkins, to see if he can help out in at least getting it part way, say Clifford's. ;)

Paul I have a near new air modulator for the 740 if you need it. Have you thought of renting a small UHaul trailer to transport the trans up here, 'course you would have to follow in the car. Doug picked up the engine dolly. I told him to let me know when you are doing the swap so I could be out of town, LOL.

I'll keep that in mind. I'll make sure and not post when the swap will take place!

The tranny arrived in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. I used Uship.com which is just the opposite of eBay. Shippers will bid until you get the lowest price you are willing to pay. I got that advice from one of our own, William Watkins.

We will be visiting family and friends in the Great Pacific Northwest in September, so I'll have a chance to check it out along with going down to see Mike Wilson. Hopefully he'll have the engine pulled and set aside until I can pick it up. We also purchased a complete power steering system that will be installed next year.

I can't wait for our "Extreme Bus Makeover" to start! 8-)

Our Dual Recliner arrived the day before our two week vacation! Whew! :D

We ordered it from Discount Van and Truck in SoCal. It arrived one week later than promised, we were sweating it!

It arrived in one big box, three pieces. Went through our entry door without to much trouble. I wasn't to sure it would fit!

It's very comfortable, just need to wire the 12v for the massage motors. It's pretty cool as the center folds down with two cup holders and a tray to hold whatever we want to keep handy. At least we have a place now to sit next to each other and hold hands! ;)

Here's a couple of pic's, hard to get one that really shows it off, but here goes.

Finally started the swap just to prove we're doing it! Removing our tired 8v71n and replacing it with one that has more spunk, in other words, rebuilt. We are going to mate it to an Allison 740 so I don't have to swear so much when shifting! Notice the clean and well lit shop!

Will post more as things get more exciting............
