Wayne, I have to tell ya, when women see something guess what! You get to do the work!
I had our new hitch welded up yesterday! I had all the pieces cut to fit, all he had to do was lay some rod. He brought his rig out to where we are located and went to work. Took him around 2 hours, welds are strong and look great!
I figure it cost about $250 total! Not bad for a redneck huh!
Thanks to the help I received here from Don (Boxcar Okie), Clifford, Mark, Jim Hufford and all the other bus nuts, it went real smooth. What a group I'm proud to be associated with!!!!!
The hitch was rated at 10,000#, by the time we finished I'm confident it is that and more.
I finished installing it this morning, boy that was a chore all by my littleself too!
Now I get to install the exhaust piping, maybe this weekend!

Nice cooktop! It looks great! I really love cooktops like that, especially in busses since they don't take away from the counter space. Really cool!

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01 - Bedroom Remodel
I finally got around to remodeling the bedroom. I moved the bed to the center and completely redid the Head Board storage area. I used red oak and Lowe's was very happy they had a returning customer!
I have one cabinet yet to make at the foot of the bed, and finish the trim. Move the ceiling lights and speaker to bed center, and new carpet.
Now it's Becky's turn to finish the Route 66 quilt she is making up!
I'm trying to get the inside finished so I can finally get around to painting the exterior................... again.
Nightstands to hide our junk!
It finally looks like a real bus conversion bedroom!

Paul, nice job! I especially like the rounded corners on the doors, something to consider when we build ours, but first is to learn how to build a base cabinet and master the Kreg Tool and a tape measure , Nice job Paul.

I agree with Van, I will go a week early to TBR to get some basic carpenter lessons, remember that I know only how to turn a screwdriver and now after a year also to check the oil and air pressure on the tires...
Nice job and you're right, now looks like a busconversion bedroom.

Julio, You can stop by Abilene on your way to TBR and we'll run together!
Van, I'm amazed with the ways to use the Kreg tool, it really adds to the overall experience of assembling cabinets. Something I'm just learning myself.
Here is the latest addition in the bedroom. My wife didn't want the traditional fabric valence, so I came up with this. We installed the kitchen backsplash material the other day. I'm sure glad that part is over, the stuff came from India via London and Cinci OH. It is the same design as we used in the lounge, just without the black brushed look.

Re: Dreamscape 1968 Eagle 01
By the look from the pictures you posted, it doesn't look like anything structual. But only you can determne that. I also have some rust, but it's under the siding by the rear axle. The rest is good to go.
You might want to post some pictures in your Project thread so we all can take a look.
