As of 12/1/2021, a major update of the forum software was accomplished
Update: 4/20/2024: The Eagles email account at GoDaddy no longer works. I have set up a gmail account as a workaround: eaglesinternational.email@gmail.com (This link seems to work for my outlook email, but may not work for other email platforms. If it does not load, copy and paste the link in your platform.)
Update: 4/27/2024: I am getting some SQL error pages as I click on different areas of our forum. Using the back arrow and hitting the link again usually loads the page. I will wait for a day or two before I have GoDaddy look into the problem.

Tire Size
Curious minds want to know, or at least my curious mind. What tire sizes are being run on the various coaches. Manny indicated he's running 22.5's. I'm running 24.5's. In case it makes a difference my unit is a 1982 model 10. Thanx,

Re: Tire Size
We have 22.5 on the front, 24.5 on the rear and tag. Don't ask me why they put 22.5 on the front. It's been like that since we bought it almost 6 years ago. One day we'll put 24.5's on the front to keep them all the same.

Re: Tire Size
From what I have learned, Eagles came with 24.5s for the most part. If anyone is running 22.5s, they have been added. If that is incorrect, someone will let us know but that is what I have always heard.

Re: Tire Size
Dale, the 24.5 were standard but you could get 22.5 on the Eagles. All of Vanderhoffs Eagles like mine were 22.5.I use 22.5 because they carry more weight with less air and are wider that makes for better steering and driving but to each his own 24.5 are also cheaper about 100 bucks a tire that is 800 bucks a set. Most of the motor home shells had the 12R 22.5 good luck

Re: Tire Size
The standard on the Eagle Coaches was 22.5 until 1979 when they changed to 24.5. The brake system was also changed to the Q Brake at this time. Although a 22.5 wheel will fit on the Model 10 and newer coaches, I would recommend the 24.5 wheel as it gives you more clearance between the brake drum and wheel, thus giving you better cooling for your brakes.

Re: Tire Size
My 78 / 05 has the 24.5 wheels. It was originally sold to the Gov't and may have been spected out that way as Dan said prior to 79 Eagles had 22.5. I am pretty sure all the "Hanford Buses" were 24.5". I am not absolutely sure about that. Joe Laird has one of these buses, so he may help on this subject. Joe???
