Ken, You are more than welcome. Glad to see you finally made it and will show us your coach, looking forward to it. Course I really enjoy the fact that it is an 01, kinda partial to them. ;)

I needed to trim out the Ozite headliner where it meets the door, windshield etc. I’ve been putting it off because I was hoping some easy fix, or stick-on magic trim would appear in an article. I also needed a wire chase for the center windshield post and behind the driver side window. The cabinetry is oak so that was the obvious choice and having watched Mike Chestnut at BCI Coachworks, I though I could do it and match the finish. Image

Looks very good Ken! Very happy that you are able to post pictures of your Eagle now. Please take some time and post some more, I would love to see it all. Hope you guys can come to TBR in Oct., it would be great to meet y'all.

You're wood work looks very nice, I really like the way you finished around the door. Something I have yet to do.

Well after a road trip I'm back to working on the trim. Trimmed out the drivers window, same as the door. Have oak strips in a bender to cover the headliner edge above the windshield. Entry is finished with rocker switches in box at entry. One switch for the electric step and one for the interior valance lights. Step switch allows step to remain open, and valance light switch is handy when entering the coach on a dark night.

Hi Ken,

Looking very nice! Did you make your own oak bender? Something I might have to do myself. Can you share any information?

Glad to see you had a good trip!

This is my latest stick, the trim under the drivers window. As you can see my workbench, shop, and tools are not the most professional. I learned a lot working with Mike Chestnut at BCI Coachworks. It's not necessary to have a lot of fancy tools if you take your time.
Image
It is a pain having to set the saw up every time, but my wife wont leave her car out of the garage.
Image
With good glue and a router anyone can make some nice trim even a old piano player like me.

Ken, At least you have a garage! I've been doing all of our work outside come rain or shine! You are right about not needing all the fancy tools, I have a minimal amount and get by OK.

It sure is looking good, I'll bet it feels good to get this behind you.

Paul you are right. This finish work is long overdue. I'm wrapping the top of the windshield with oak, "I hope", to hide the edge of the ozite headliner. Here is how I bent the strips.
Image
After I made a carboard template of the windshield curve I ripped two 3/4" oak strips to 1/8" thick. Using my custom workbench and bending devices, I put a hot rag on the bend. Next day.
Image
I'm relatively sure that Norm Abrams doesn't feel threatened but it's coming along. Sure wish we could afford to keep her.
