I forgot to mention that there was another bus/shell for the same purchase price, the previous owner purchased only for the Torsilastic suspension, just in case.

He told me that he can wait me a year to pick it up...

Hi Julio!

Now we're talking some real Eagle news huh? So glad it has finally worked out for you. We sure have visited a lot of buses together over the net, now it's time to get serious.

I know you and your wife are very excited with this new adventure. When you emailed me that you bought an Eagle, I almost cried. I thought if you would have bought one of the other "Brands" we might never meet!

Do you guys have a name for Your Eagle yet?

Can't wait to see you guys and your new purchase!

Thanks for your comments Paul, now it's real and finally we own an Eagle after many many emails and a lot of time. Now is time to bring it home.

We don't have a name yet but I like "The Grasshoper" because I remember when I was a child I liked these buses with big eyes like grasshoppers.

Maybe we can meet soon with a translate dictionary on hand for each one...

Julio, If "The Grasshopper" is what you like, I think you should name it that. The story you told is touching.

It will all come together, just hang in there and have faith that it will happen. One day you will finally have your "Eagle" home with you.

I'll need more than a translate dictionary! Maybe a couple of cerveza's. :D

Julio,

If he is still going to part the bus, tell him that I need the front bumper!

We finally picked up the bus three weeks ago and now is stored in El Paso TX, we started the return trip on Tuesday March 17th and that day we stopped all day long at 1 hour from Kerrville TX because the bus refused to start again after we loaded diesel, the previous owner went with us to check what I was doing wrong but he also couldn’t start the bus, he called a mechanic but he arrived until 5:00 PM and the only problem was the ground cable from the bus battery to the frame because a little rust, once the cable was tightened the bus started again with no problem, after that we continued the trip and parked the bus in Ozona TX at an RV park (just $18.00, this is really cheap!). That night I didn’t started the water heater (I pushed another switch) and when I take a shower the water was like ice cubes, that night I had high fever an all the additional symptoms, we continued the trip very late on next day and at 30 miles from el Paso I stopped at the last rest area to check the rear lights and surprise! no rear lights! just the brakes and turn lights was working ok and I decided to park overnight there. The next day when we arrived to El Paso I changed the light bulbs on the rear but doesn’t work.

If my wife was not totally convinced check the photo:

I have to pay $18,000 us dollars to import it to Mexico and I didn't agree to pay that amount, I'm thinking that the laws in our Country are made by a bunch of stupid extraterrestrials. Only the 1999 vehicles pays a 10% over the commercial value plus a 15% sales tx, any other vehicle needs to pay 50% plus the 15%. With that money I could fix all the minor issues, maybe paint it, install wood floor instead the carpet, install two Flexsteel captain seats and I don't know what else.

There is another option to import it but I don't want that one because I have no experience to do it, it is possible to do as a part bus disassembled, no motor, no transmission and no axles.

The bus runs really good and has a lot of power in the motor, runs at 80 mph with no problem and the transmission shifts very good.

The only issues what I noticed was.
- The stick from the transmission needs a little adjustment.
- The odometer and the tach doesn't work.
- The ground cable from the bus battery needs to be relocated.
- The generator needs a minor fix, I need to mantain it accelerated with a little wire and start and stop in the switch in the bay. The start/stop controls in the bus also works.

As of today we decide to sell it in the US, I know that in this days is not easy to sell a bus conversion but I have to let it go both buses, if anyone of you know who's looking for a good bus conversion please let me know.

We at a rest area:

Julio, It breaks my heart to hear you have to part with your dream after so many years looking. It's just fair!

There has to be a way that will work, maybe someone here will be able to come up with a plan that will work and not cost so much!

Come on guys, put your heads together and let's figure out something!

Maybe pull the motor/trans and someone can trailer them down? Don't understand about having to pull the axles though. What a bunch of *%#+@^!

Sell the bus to some Eagle owner in Texas for $100 and then buy it back for whatever the Mexican gov't would accept as reasonable. I think that if you bought the bus from someone who was having a hard financial time, you could have gotten it for about $5000. Times are tough and prices on these things are very low. A certified Bill of Sale from the new 'owner' would show what you paid for it.
