Thanks Y'all! ;)

Another shot showing some Per Lux 36A Fog Lights I installed today. I found these on eBay for an unbelievable price! I had thought about cutting holes in the bumper, then thought about it again and decided to mount them in front. I just hated to cut it.

Just a quick update.

On our way down to Salem, OR from Vancouver, WA yesterday this was the first trip fully loaded pulling our Jeep since the swap. I noticed that our top speed was no where near what it had been before. Foot to the floor on the air throttle pedal and could barely stay at 55 MPH. We stopped at the rest stop on I-5 in Wilsonville, OR and changed the psi setting on the regulator from 85 psi to 100 psi. I'm going to remove that regulator when we get to Crater Lake RV Park and just let 'er rip! ;)

Other than that, she sure is a pleasure to drive. I had to chuckle at this. We pulled off I-5 heading to Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort and my left foot wanted to stab the clutch pedal. I guess habits are hard to break! :D

We'll be here for a week or so then on to our host job.

Paul is your linkage arm moving the throttle all the way to the stop? just a thought.

Paul,

Way back when (8V71 days), I had an air throttle with a regulator. I had to set mine at 60#. The air throttle applied full throttle at that pressure. Originally, like you, I had it set for 80#. Apparently, there was a loss between the throttle and the linkage on the engine, but further, the pressure variation of the D2 governor, seldom allowed full throttle pressure to the linkage. I would suggest you lower the regulator pressure and adjust the linkage accordingly. See how that helps.

The air throttle and linkage is allowing the governor to reach full throttle when it was set up. It is just the air pressure. I will play with it and see what happens. I think a lower pressure would make it worse. I may even remove the regulator. I will find out where it will be happy and leave it.
