Eagle,

Do you remember the Hurcules conversion place in downtown Louisville? Got any leads on former employee's? I understand the owner has passed recently so we are looking for former employees now. Any thing you can dig up will be a help here.

You guys got juice back in the house yet?? I hope you aren't still without power now. Make sure you call next time you are over to the H park and we will get together.

Dalene and Manny have you tried the Trailways Bus Driver group on Yahoo these guys helped me a bunch tracing down the the Ford turbine powered bus. They put me in touch with a driver that drove it.I will keep digging for you but 3 buses with 85610 in the last digits plus in 3 different states is a task. good luck

Steve , I am trying to break the serial down and see if that will help me so far Manny knows this but I will post it for some of the guys

1 = his plant
H = Hercules
E = Eagle
M = modified
C = coach
40 = length
D = diesel
4 = 4 speed spicer
J = ?
K = Kentucky
anyone got ideas on what the one with ? mark are I am thinking they are for engine, transmission and rear axle I am checking the Rockwell,Allision,Spicer and
Detroit Diesel books to see who used those codes.I may give out but never give up. only one left and then back to 85610 again
good luck

The 10th digit date codes are:

j=1988
k=1989
l=1990
ect till you get to 2000
Then:
1=2001
2=2002
3=2003
ect till present I wasnt thinking or I would have ask what happens in 2010 but I would bet it goes back to the letters then.

Hey Guys,

That's what we've been told too KY Steve. "J" stands for the year "1988", and we were told that the first digit "1" was for "United States".

Does that "4 speed spicer" mean automatic? (Long day, I'm drawing a blank.)

I've been running all day, glad you are all working on this for us :D
