User Name Vs Real Name

Post by beltguy »

As a moderator, I see every new member approval.

Unfortunately, many folks choose user names that have no relationship to their real names. That is fine, but it is often impossible to tell who is posting, let alone who has joined.

At the least, I hope folks will fill in their real name in their profile.

Better yet, I strongly recommend that folks set up a signature that includes their name, location and a bit about their bus (see my signature below as an example). That way we will get to know folks who share the same addiction ("Hello my name is xxx and I am an addict" :P )

Some folks are a bit shy (or concerned) about posting their phone number or email address. I agree that that is not the best idea. However, posting your name and possibly your project website should not be a problem.

Just my $.25 worth :D
