Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
Greetings,
Does you have any pictures of your cockpit and how you have it set up? With my huge steering wheel it's kinda hard to design a dash so it won't hit your knuckles!
I spent several hours yesterday moving my camera monitor, stereo and GPS to differant locations and I just haven't found the right look yet.
Actually I just want to see some pics of the inside of your coach!
I think we are the only 01 Owners here HA!
Happy Trails,

Re: Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
Ahoy, Paul,
Awwright, I'll take some pix of the cockpit of my Eagle-01. ---- Soon.
You may be correct in that we are the only 'old' Eagles , my -01 Eagle is s/n 7300. People enjoy my remark that my motor home has a data plate which attests to it being 41 years, but that little in it is more than a few years old, other than the driver.
For starts, the shifter is on the left side. I'd never driven a ten speed, so I figured that if I could land on an aircraft carrier with either hand, I could shift the ten speed with either hand. After ~~42,000 miles -- still -- people hear me shift that big sucker and wonder how I ever managed to land a jet on a carrier. Yah, I'm getting better, but NOT good at it.
I'm set up so that in front of me, there are only the few needed gages, visible through the wheel. The rest of the stuff is on the left console, or overhead on the left. On either side of the wheel, there are a pair of foot pads so I can lay back and 'mosey along' with my feet up like a 'Harley guy'. Works just fine for me, and is VERY comfortable.
We are off to Pismo Beach in the morning for a couple of days. (Yah, out here on the 'left coast' we have funny names for places and 'acts'). We keep thinking that we should take the money and run --- to a 'red' state -- We just don't know which direction.
Enjoy /s bob

Re: Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
Have fun at Pismo! Been there a couple of times when we lived in SoCal. Sorry, don't miss the slow moving parking lots one bit!
No big hurry on the pics, I'm almost finished with our dash, it sure was not easy figuring out the layout for all that's needed! I spent more time just looking and moving the monitor and stereo around to get a feel for it. It's made out of oak so it should be OK. It's not fancy like the fiberglass stuff but it'll work for us, err me.

Re: Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
Hi Van,
Just got in from putting the last coat of stain on dash. It's supposed to get down to 27 tonight, so probably won't get to put any clear coat on tomorrow!
I'll post some pics maybe in the morning, gotta get some dinner, I'm pooped!
I'm sure gonna like having one, haven't had one for over three years. Been doing to much remodeling!

Re: Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
OK Van, Here ya go!
I still have to clear coat it and add some oak on the flat surfaces to the left of the dash and on the passenger side, gonna go crazy with a design of some sort! Alomst there!
Notice how clean my workshop is!

Thanks Gus,
The only problem I have now is this, it makes the original steering wheel look awful!

Re: Question for Bob Belter and other 01 Owners
That's easy Paul stain the steering wheel LOL . Really the answer is easy Updated dash needs a updated steering wheel(new),slightly smaller and will look oh so nice with your new dash.I think a new wheel will insure that new bus feeling to go with the total make over ,I do it with every thing we own Bikes cars, and eventualy the 15 will get one too after I hand lay the new fiberglas dash for it ,great job
