I would go take a look at it, good education even if you don't make a deal.

The ride height looks very good, better than mine. The genset is worth a few bucks if it's in good shape. The interior definitely needs some updating.

The plumbing looks kinda funky, the batteries look bad.

The engine, tranny and brakes would need a serious look. If any of these are subject to redo, it could empty your wallet fast. ;)

I think he's asking about 10K too much for what's there, but it's his deal.

I never understood a suicide knob on the steering wheel. I need both arms to turn ours. :P

Thanks Clifford,
We figured that the interior wasn't bad and the upgrades in there were something we could do. I got worried when I saw the wires dangling on the right side of the engine bay but my hair stood on end when I saw the water and electrics. The seller (also named Clifford) has been very open about the age and possibility of issues with the bus so I certainly am not putting him down in any way.

Our budget is in the $35,000-$40,000 range and figured if we could get it for somewhere near his opening bid of $10,000 we would have a little left for whatever issues the coach had. I'm afraid this one would just has too many issues to deal with. I don't think we'd be able to enjoy the old girl any time soon.

Steve, I'll take 70 for mine the guy that was buying mine gave me a deposit to hold it till March and Mon he told me to keep his deposit and sell the the bus and pass the deposit on he can not sell his boat.
I am really having a hard time keeping his deposit but that is the way he wants it and it is a pretty good sum of money.

good luck

Anybody have any idea what it would cost to change the front cap on the model 20.

You can get a cap from R&M for $550. http://www.rm-fiberglass.com/bus/model/39.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Eagle sells them too but I don't know if Craig has his parts set up yet. He didn't last time I spoke to him.

Putting on caps is not all that difficult. That is why I think this bus can still be a good deal for someone. The problem for me would be that it isn't raised. At 6'2", I gotta have a roof raise. On an empty shell that is easy, but on a converted coach that can be a lot of work!

Any ballpark figure on having the cap replaced and painted on the NJT 20?

I talked to Sonnie. He is going to come take a look at the pictures and see what he would do the job for if someone here bought the bus. He's working on Doyle's bus so it may be a little while before he has time.

I emailed the guy to see if he has engine pictures, A 871 with turbo being in that bus is a odd deal isn't it :?:
