The VIN is from Hercules.....and there are two different front cradles ..one for the 96 and one for the 102..Dan could chime in on this but I remember two different part numbers on the line....and the elec box in the engine bay is late 05 early 10
I do the difficult everyday ...the impossible just takes a little longer.

I always thought like Bill did but I have found out it is half way between Bill and Dale. They moved the wheels apart 3 inches on the 15. So they set in a little farther than the 05 and 10.

If it's been widened you should be able to look under the bus, under the bays and see a 3" piece of tubing on each side that is used to bring the sides out.

I looked for that and there is a big wide piece of steel there but I have never looked at my bus to see what it looks like stock so I wasn't sure. Looking in the rear corners inside the engine compartment, I did see a seam that was about three inches from the wall on each side.

Regardless of whether it is a 15 or an 05, as I think it is now, it is still a nice bus and is a great project for someone to bring back to life. If I weren't so in love with my 20... and if I could afford it... I don't know that I wouldn't want it. The floor plan is not exactly what I want though and that is what I really like about building my own.

The VIN is from Hercules Coach. The bus is definitely an older model 96 inch bus that has been stretched widened and raised. Eagle did change the width of all the axles when they introduced the Model 15 102's. As far as the last five digits matching a 1978 Model 05, who knows, its possible. However, I have never seen a Hercules VIN number that matched the original in any way.
