I got BOTH pipes and four clamps for a total including shipping for $858.34. I went ahead an purchased both so I don't have to worry for some time with this issue. Super guy to work with, shipped the same day I pordered and hopefully I will receive them this afternoon. I will take pics soon as I have in hand.

I just purchased both pipes for our 8V92 from Williams Detroit through a diesel mechanic. His cost was $500 for the bellows pipe on the driver side and $130 for the passenger side.

I came across this during a search for the exhaust part:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/200898943967?

It is for a series 50 but the diameter seems about right.

Clifford, do you or anyone else know if this could have the ends cut off and replaced so it would work on the 71/92 series.

I've seen the ends replaced on the stock pipes and it's no big deal.

This is $39. That's a big difference!

Joe, they are not hard to make you can buy the bellows from Summit Racing for 30 bucks and the flanges for under 25 bucks ea the top mount uses a weird angle but here the muffler shop just charges me 35 bucks to bend it and for the 2 pieces of pipe

On the right side the shop charges me 50 bucks for it then when I buy the 2-1/2 in ID flanges and weld those it is cheaper for me to buy it from Williams

I don't know why Tom's guy paid 130 for that pipe that's more than list here William is famous for different prices in Vegas the Jake jumper tube seals are a buck fifty ea in Phoenix they are $3.85 each go figure

I still think I am in the cow business buy high and sell cheap lol I sold Tom on the BCM a new pipe with bellows for 125 bucks for a top mount hell I think I even paid for shipping I had no idea those were selling for 600 bucks till I called my guy at Williams

Thanks Clifford,

That's what I thought. I just didn't measure the diameters of the pipes.

The ones I have seen made, we clamped the flanges in, cut the pipe to fit, tack welded them, then took the whole thing out, put it in a clamp and welded the seams.

I've never seen one made that way fail.

I know that there are sometimes only one or two companies that make certain parts. If that company can be located, the part is usually much cheaper.

Exhaust pipes and many others can be made by any competent welder. If the welder is good enough, they can be made from stainless. That welder ain't me!

Is there anyone that hasn't watched the custom guys make motorcycles?

You guys send me the parts I'll be happy to weld them together. Steel or stainless. If we can figure out sources for all the different flanges, bellows and tubing (I can get any tubing). We can machine flanges too if need be. I can also build some jigs to weld them in the different configurations if we have a good part to duplicate.

I haven't had this problem yet on either of my 8V92's but it seems to be a common problem. Send me a message to randyatmotivesystemsincdotcom if you need any welding or fabrication help.

Got to keep our Eagles rolling...lol

I can get him the parts S/S pipe is 45 bucks for 4 ft best price I found at Speedway, Randy probably can beat that or Summits Racing price on the bellows and flanges

30 bucks for the SS bellows and 35 for the SS flanges the steel flange are around 20 bucks each the bellows only come in SS fwiw

Weld on flanges seem a lot better than the flare they do on the pipe from the factory fwiw the 8v92 and 6v92 use the same piping for the turbo

You can have the choice of the mesh expansion or the bellow type for the one side it make no difference which side you install the bellows

Randy we will put you in the exhaust business then you can sell to Jerry Jefferson lol

The pipe is 2-1/2 ID for turbo engines and 3in ID for the non turbo old 2 strokes
