Fender Well Hoops
Hey All,
I just ordered a tube roll former for making the fender well hoops. If anyone needs hoops let me know and while I am set up I can make extra pieces. My plan at the moment is to make them out of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" .083" wall tubing. They can be made in different size tubing but it would take making new tooling so I would like to settle on a standard tube size.
Here is the information I have at the moment as for sizes.
Each bus takes the following.
2 hoops 50 5/8" Diameter
4 hoops 51 1/4" Diameter
That is the information I am going on. I have been asking around about tube sizes and I have gotten quite a few different answers. If I need to correct these dimensions please feel free to correct me.
Also does anyone know what Silver Eagle was charging for the hoops? I just want to get an idea of what they are worth.

Re: Fender Well Hoops
Here are two photos of the wheel hoops. I made them from 1" x 1 1/2" 14 gauge tubing (.083 wall thickness). They came out pretty nice. I bought a tube roller and it worked out pretty good.

Jack, I paid $75 a piece for the hoops , bought all 6 from Silver Eagle. Took a little doing to get them.
What guage sheet metal are you using for the wheel well ?
Thanks Ed

Ed,
Thanks for the info. The rectangular tubing is 14 gauge steel. The wheel wells I made are .050 Aluminum painted both sides, worked out nice. I hope that was the info you were looking for?
