Need Clutch Pedal and Arm

Post by beltguy »

I am about to redo my very unique  clutch system. I currently use hydraulic cylinder and slave cylinder and that will remain the same. What will change is my use of a treadle valve/air brake chamber combined with an lever for hand actuation (don't ask). I have gotten pretty good at operating the clutch, but I am about the only person in the world that can work it properly.

I am going to rig up a clutch similar to what Brian Diehl did:

http://home.earthlink.net/~diehls0792_1 ... ion10.html

The clutch system he manufactured uses a hanging pedal, linkage down to the service bay below the driver and a vacuum chamber/master cylinder (along with a vacuum pump). BTW, that project page is a great read - especially how he picked up the engine/transmission.

I want to use the floor clutch pedal system that Eagle used. I have the bearing brackets covered, but I would like to save the fabrication time on the pedal/arm if someone has one that they have removed.

That darn Bob Gilbert got me started on this project :D . He said that IHC S1700 trucks had a great vacum pump/chamber system on trucks with diesel engines and hydraulic brakes. Still have to visit the local salvage yard to see if I can find one.

Thought I would bring this to the top again.

If anyone has removed the clutch arm from their 05/10 (01?) I would sure love to have it. the part I am looking for is the clutch pedal and arm that pivots under the driver's floor.

This project is down the line a bit, but would like to gather the parts.

Just to clarify, I need the pedal, arm, and (if possible) the bearings shown on the left hand side of the photo. I would love to have the other parts, but the pedal/arm/bearings are my main focus.

Hey Jim, if you can wait until April I got you covered. I have all the parts you need in a parts bus, just have to take them out and send them to you or bring them to the next rally.

BTW I haven't got to use your Prolink since Bowie but have located some M11 trucks in Phoenix that I will try to check out wile I am in Q.

Bob, realistically, I will probably not get to this project till that time frame. Thanks for the offer.

As you probably know, I will not be in Quartzsite this year. Keep the ProLink with you and we will work on getting it back when you are done with it.
