Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
JC, on the drivers side in the corner there is some wires coming of the sender with resistance loops try uncoiling 2 of the loops and see if the pressure goes up if not it will probably be the sending unit any Napa store has that unit if you really need a gauge I may one and I guess you want the one with Eagle lol
good luck
Clifford
good luck

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
Thanks Clifford I checked for the coils and there wasn't any in the wires. I have 2 units screwed into the oil pressure stack. (If you know what I mean) The one at the bottom only has 1 wire coming off it the one near the top has 2 yellow and 1 red wire coming from it. Which one is the sending unit that I need to change.

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
JC, the bottom 1 wire is the sending unit the top one with 3 wires is your low pressure shutdown

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
Clifford I changed the oil sending unit and I am getting the following readings. Low idle 750 RPM front gauge is reading 58# back mechanical gauge reading 33#. Fast idle 1150 RPM front gauge reading 90 # back mechanical gauge reading 55#. I have 3 loops in the sending unit wire and it did not make any difference in the readings. What do you suggest I try now?
Thanks
JC
Thanks

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
JC, the sending unit has to be a 90# sender sounds like you have a 60#.
I'll check my stash and see if I have a VDO unit for that gauge if not you can get one from Jefferson or E gauge on the net
good luck

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
Clifford it is an 80# PSI sending unit. Put the old sending unit back on and it is about 15# less than the rear mechanical gauge. I am returning it to NAPA, they say they do not have a 90# sending unit.
