Drive shaft length

Ahoy, Eagles,

I'm doing a bit of 'contemplative' design. Interested in how short a drive shaft can be with the Eagle Torsilastic suspension travel, and still work OK. I believe that the Eagle -05 // -10 shaft is quite short, and successful.

Does anyone have an Eagle -05 or -10 driveshaft which they can conveniently measure? Distance from u-joint center to u-joint center -- say in mid range of the spline travel.

Thanks /s/ Bob

Bob,

The shortest drive shaft you can have is 12.5 inches. This has been installed on an Eagle with no drop box and worked fine.

Bob, I did not measure mine but if I remember it is 14 inches. It works fine but I keep it greased as I know it is working very hard. I thought I read that the angle of the drive shaft should be around 5 degrees at most and mine is more than that. I have changed the u-joints once as they where getting sloppy.

Good Luck Wayne
