Anyone know of a good reliable internet site where I might order some replacement hoses (spares) for my Detroit 8V?
I was kind of wanting to order up some to put in the coach to have on hand for emergencies.

Re: replacement hoses
BCO, if you are talking about the cooling system hoses unless somebody did something crazy they are all straight hoses and can be bought at any good size Napa store or truck supply and just cut to the size you need.
I have 2 different sizes on mine and carry 2 sticks of hose never needed one yet but it is good insurance you never know good luck

Re: replacement hoses
Don Ditto Clifford. You might want to get a couple of each size of hose clamps. They will probably rust before you need them, but if you don't carry them you will need them. Or you will be a hero when someone else needs them.

Re: replacement hoses
First of all, be sure to get the very heavy duty hose. I comes in 3ft lengeths at Napa. It will be what we called "wrapped hose" and will have what looks like a cloth texture on the outside (it was cured with about 3 inch wide nylon strap that shrinks from the heat of the autoclave. You will be able to see several layers of fabric when you look at the end. I would not go with the much more expensive silicon hose. We just don't need it for our use and it has a tendency to leak around the tubing under some conditions. The rubber is expensive enough as it is. Usually NAPA will whack off what you need off the stick.
Secondly, you MUST use the HD spring type clamps. Do not cut conrers here!
