Rear end Gear Ratio

Post by ericbsc »

I am trying to program a VDO speedo and the formula wants to know the gear ratio. I don't have a clue!!! I figure there are probably only a few for a 73 model 05. The trans has been ghanged to an Allison mt-654. Any ideas?

Eric, you should have a tag on the housing if not jack up one side and rotate the tire and tell us how many turns the drive shaft makes per one complete rotation and what size tires you have. It is going to be 3.36 or 3.73 with a 8v71 it is probably 3.73

Good luck
