Rear Axle Ratio on Model 01 ?

Post by Dreamscape »

My book does not say what it is for the 01, it gives 3.7 for the 05 with a dropbox.

I read Tim's post and he has 3.33.

What am I supposed to have?

As far as I know I have the original rear axle as I have a T drive and no drop ;) box!

Never saw a 01 with a 8v71 that had anything but a 3:73 the Cummins that a few had were the same.
It has the same axle housing just different center for the dropbox so the 3:33,3:36,3:38,3:73 and the 4:10 ring gear were the same only the pinion gear was different for the dropbox fwiw the 8v71 has a tough time with anything higher than a 3:73 with the 4 speed manual transmission
